FAQ

The short answer to each, and the page that carries the long one.

What a Share is

Is this a token quota?

No. A quota is a monthly allowance that runs out and stops your work. A Share is a priority class on a specific server — you use it as much as you like, and what it governs is how quickly you are served when other people are working too.

A fair share

What happens when I run out of priority credit?

Your work carries on at P3 — the same queues with the credit test switched off. No bucket, no charge, no window, and nothing to top up.

Your buckets refill on a clock the whole time, so work still waiting when a credit lands goes out at the higher class again.

How the scheduler resolves contention

What do I get when nobody else is on the server?

All of it. Nothing is partitioned or set aside per Share, so on a quiet server every dispatch is yours until the server itself is full.

The whole server when it is free

Is $5 a promotional price?

It is the standing price, and it does not step up after three months. One server costs what it costs whether one person or two hundred are on it, so the price of a Share is that bill divided. Buy one and $5 a month is the whole bill, however hard you work it.

Why the price is flat

What model and hardware does it run?

8 × NVIDIA B300, 8 × 288 GB HBM3e (2.304 TB). The server is dedicated, single-tenant to iqshard, and it runs the latest GLM.

Every server, and what is still open

Is GLM as good as a frontier model?

Not on every benchmark, and we publish the comparisons rather than claim otherwise. For everyday agentic coding the quality gap is far narrower than the price gap, which is why we run it — the work you are doing all day is the work it is good at.

Against the frontier plans

What happens when a newer GLM ships?

The server upgrades and your Share carries over at the same price. You are buying the server, not a frozen model version.

What it costs

What does a Share cost?

$20 pcm for Pro, which holds P1 and P2. $5 pcm for Lite, which holds P2. Both include P3, and both are flat, per Share, recurring monthly.

What each class holds

Can I be billed for anything beyond the monthly price?

No. Nothing you send is metered and there is no overage to buy. The only addition is tax, and the purchase screen shows it with the total before you authorise anything.

What you pay, and when

Can I buy more than one?

Yes, and everything scales with it. Buy five Pro Shares and you hold five times the credits, refilling five times as fast. What they don’t buy is more turns — the loop interleaves per participant, so nobody can spend their way in front of you.

Pricing

Buying, and leaving

What does a pledge commit me to?

To subscribe if the server gets enough pledges to proceed. Nothing is charged while it is funding, you can change or delete the pledge until then, and if the server does not proceed the pledge ends without a charge.

Terms, section 3

What if iqshard is not around in a year?

iqshard is built and run by K42 Software OÜ, an Estonian software company. We buy each server outright rather than rent it on, and a Share is the only thing we sell, so what keeps the servers running is what you already pay for one.

A server also only proceeds once enough Shares are pledged, so nothing is charged before the hardware is committed to. If it does not fund, your pledge ends without a charge.

Who is building it

When am I charged?

It depends which stage the server has reached — nothing while it is funding, one month once it is confirmed, prorated if it is already live. The purchase screen shows the dates, the tax and the total before you authorise anything.

What you pay, and when

Can I cancel?

Yes. Month to month, no lock-in. Cancel before the next renewal and there are no further charges, though a period that has already started is not refunded. Your Share opens up for the next person on the waiting list.

Living on a shared server

What if the server goes down?

One server is one failure domain. If it goes down, every Share on it goes down with it, and we fix it as fast as we can. That is the trade for a dedicated server you can watch rather than a slice of a pool.

If a server fails for good, everyone on it can be moved onto another one. The arrangement is the durable part; the hardware is fungible.

Terms, section 7

What happens when a server fills up?

The next one opens. Server two is new rather than an expansion of the first, so your existing Shares are not diluted — the server you bought into is the server you keep.

Current and upcoming servers

Does my Share get worse as the server fills?

You get a fair share of it throughout. Every server publishes its class split and how much is already allocated, so the level of sharing is on the page before you buy.

On a busy server your turns come further apart, and your bucket has been refilling the whole time, so there is more to spend when one arrives. Interleaving is per participant, so nobody can buy their way in front of you.
